Etan's Journey was founded by Charlene Stregles and her daughters. Driven by nearly 30 years of professional experience in human services. and recognizing a critical lack of safe recovery options for medically vulnerable adults facing housing instability, Ms. Stregles established Etan's Journey. Her vision: to provide compassionate, coordinated medical respite care that not only improves health outcomes but significantly reduces hospital readmissions for those who need it most.

Welcome to Etan's Journey Adult Medical Respite Care Facility, Inc. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, coordinated medical respite care for medically fragile adults experiencing housing instability in Charlotte, North Carolina.Our mission is to improve health outcomes, reduce hospital readmissions, and offer a bridge to long-term stability and wellness for our community.

What sets Etan's Journey apart is our comprehensive and integrated approach to supporting medically stable adults. Unlike traditional shelters, we are specifically designed for individuals discharged from hospitals who require ongoing medical oversight and coordinated support. Through trauma-informed care, interdisciplinary collaboration among Medical Staff, Licensed  Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors, Case Managers, and strong hospital partnerships, Etan's Journey improves health outcomes, reduces hospital readmissions, and promotes long-term care stability and housing solutions.

At Etan's Journey, we believe no one should be discharged from a hospital to the streets due to lack of housing or support. We envision a healthcare and human services system where medically fragile adults experiencing homelessness are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Our comprehensive case management and coordination with local hospitals and community partners aim to reduce hospital admissions, improve post-acute recovery, and promote long-term housing and health stability for vulnerable adults.
